Spring Schedule

Spring is here (believe it or not) and SVAS has a busy calendar of spring activities

Even with all of the snow we've been getting lately, you may have noticed signs of springs. There are reports of black bears waking up. Early spring migrants have begun to arrive in the valley. Recent arrivals have included turkey vulture, red-winged blackbird, common grackle, brown-headed cowbird and red-shouldered hawk. Early waterfowl sightings have included cackling goose and wood duck. It's a great time of year to get out there and greet our recent arrivals.

SVAS has some spring birding walks and a field trip planned in the coming weeks. Click on the Bird Walks and Field Trips link above for the schedule for the next couple of weeks. The full spring calendar will be in the spring newsletter and will be posted shortly here as well. Happy Birding!
